HR Manager - Chennai (standalone)
About Us
Oliver Valves is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of high-quality valves and valve systems, serving industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, and other critical sectors. We’re now seeking an experienced HR professional to establish and lead the HR function at our Chennai facility, supporting around 85 employees. This is a senior standalone role offering autonomy, responsibility, and close collaboration with our UK HR team.
The Role
You’ll own all HR activities on-site, driving recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and statutory compliance. You’ll also lead workforce development, digitisation initiatives, and early talent programs, while ensuring seamless interaction with global teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all local HR operations across the full employee lifecycle.
- Oversee payroll processes with an outsourced provider, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, gratuity, POSH), audits, and inspections.
- Support competency frameworks, career pathways, and succession planning.
- Drive HR tech adoption and process efficiency
- Provide trusted advice and guidance to managers and employees.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in HR (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- 5+ years’ HR experience in manufacturing or engineering.
- Standalone HR or site lead experience essential.
- Deep knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance.
- Strong communication, influencing, and data analysis skills.
- Comfortable operating in a global, multicultural environment.
- Fluent in English and Tamil, resilient, and self-sufficient; able to lead HR independently.
